Qiu Xiaolan graduated from Waseda University, with a Ph.D. in Education. She is specialized in Social Education, Comparative Education, Youth Problems, and Overseas Chinese. She has worked on many projects: a Shanghai Pujiang Talent Support project entitled “A study of the path and breakthrough point of the education for Chinese nationals overseas”, and a Shanghai Overseas Work Theory project “A comparative study of foreign countries in protecting their overseas residents’ educational interests”. She has published a monograph A Multi-Cultural Perspective of Overseas Chinese Education --Reconstructions and To-dos Towards Multi-Cultural Education (in Japanese), and over 30 papers, such as “The evolution of child welfare policies in Japan”.
