Lei Kaichun has a Ph.D. in Sociology and is specialized in Youth Sociology, Social Psychology, and Social Networks. She has published over 20 papers in professional journals such as Sociology Studies, Society, and Youth Studies, 3 of which were reprinted by the authoritative the Photo Copy Resources of China People’s University, 1 of which was reprinted by The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Abstracts, 1 of which got the Third Prize of the 6th Higher Education Outstanding Research, 1 of which won the First Prize of the 10th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Award, and 1 of which earned the Second Prize of the 8th Shanghai Municipal Award for Deng Xiaoping Theory Research and Publicity. Her dissertation was recognized as a 2010 Shanghai excellent dissertation. Her book, The Social Identification of the City’s New Migrants: Emotional Adherence and Rational Strategy, was funded by the Shanghai Culture Development Foundation. She is working on a National Social Science Fund (Youth) project “The social psychiatric mechanism of youth participating in online collective activities”.
