Kang Lan has a Ph.D. in Sociology. Her research interests are in social attitudes, relationships between natives and immigrants, identity politics, social identity and immigration issues. She has worked for the Horizon Research Consultancy Group, the Nelson market research, and CCTV market research; she is adept at large sample questionnaire survey and in-depth case studies. She is mainly engaged in the study of the transition of relationships between inter-generational values and parent-child power, and the relationships between natives and immigrants in a metropolis. Her research topics include social policy concerning external population assimilation, and social attitudes, community and regional identity in the relationship between natives and immigrants. She has published academic papers in core journals of sociology, urban studies, and economics, and some of her papers have been reprinted by various periodicals including the authoritative Photo Copy Resources of the China People’s University.
